“Coordination is the key for a timely and successful energy transition”

Moutaz is a member of the Sustainability Research Team at the Group Economics. As Senior Energy Economist, he is responsible for the Energy sector. In this role, Moutaz follows the energy market in the broadest possible sense, with a special focus on energy transition.

Moutaz Holds a joint PhD degree in economics from University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne with a focus on environmental international economics. He has worked as an assistant professor at Utrecht University within Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development, Sustainable Finance Lab, and Sustainable Industry Lab.

Moutaz has published on a wide range of topics that includes climate change, sustainability, monetary and fiscal policy, and energy transition. His work has been published in leading academic journals such at Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.
